Reported first by Page Six and Bloomberg, Jeff Bezos and his estranged wife, MacKenzie, just hammered out the final details of their divorce, in which it has been reported that MacKenzie will walk away with a whopping $38,000,000,000.
Bloomberg reports that Jeff and MacKenzie are officially divorced after a Washington State judge officiated the final stages of their legal separation. It’s important to note, however, that MacKenzie didn’t actually receive $38 billion in cash; she received 19.7 million shares of the company which she founded with Jeff.
Even though Jeff is parting with many billions of dollars, he is still the richest man in the world. Bloomberg’s Billionaire index ranks MacKenzie as the 22nd richest person in the world. As followers of the couple know, they first got married long before the creation of Amazon in 1993. They have four kids.
Unfortunately, things turned sour after it was revealed that Jeff was allegedly cheating on MacKenzie with the former television anchor, Lauren Sanchez. The story was reported on in the mainstream media, especially in the case of the National Enquirer, who published text messages between them.

Later on, Jeff published a letter on Medium in which he accused American Media, the company that owns the National Enquirer, of trying to use the text messages in an attempt to extort money. Regardless, the breakup between the two aforementioned billionaires sparked the curiosity of the world and led to many memes on social media.
Jeff Bezos retained ownership of the outlet, The Washington Post, moreover, MacKenzie pledged to give away much of the money she received in the divorce settlement. Back in May, MacKenzie promised to donate much of her money “until the safe is empty.”
Other stars to give away billions of dollars include Bill and Melinda Gates, who have reportedly donated approximately $45,000,000,000.

Both parties have pledged to give away their vast fortunes, however, as the years go by, they continue to generate billions. This sort of pledge is not uncommon among the world’s richest people.
