Matchbox Twenty announce Australian tour for 2024
Matchbox Twenty are heading to Australia.
The legendary ’90s rock band, which last toured here in 2012, have announced a stack of stadium shows across 10 dates in February 2024, with the Goo Goo Dolls also primed to perform as part of their set.
Taking to Twitter, the band said they were bringing their ‘Slow Dream Tour’ to Australia, before heading to New Zealand in March.
Kicking off their tour in Perth before finishing up in Brisbane, the group still consist of founding members Rob Thomas, Paul Doucette, Brian Yale and Kyle Cook.
“It’s so incredibly exciting to announce that Matchbox Twenty are heading over to entertain Australian audiences in February,” Christo Van Egmond, managing director of entertainment event company TEG Van Egmond, said in a statement.
“Australia is the band’s second highest-selling market! So many fond memories are bound to resurface while hearing these two brilliant bands perform their classic songs live.
“Few acts have dominated the contemporary music landscape in this country, from the mid-90s right through the 2000s, quite like Matchbox Twenty, and the same could be said for Goo Goo Dolls. A magical night is guaranteed.”
It comes as the 3AM rockers are set to release their sixth studio album – their first release in a decade – Where The Light Goes on May 26.
Tickets for the Aussie tour will go on sale May 23.
